Preamble

Over the years winds of change have been sweeping across the globe. India is not an exception. Some of these changes have been cataclysmic in nature and tectonic in scope. As part of this, the organizations have experienced managerial discomfort warranting resetting of the sails to achieve the envisioned glory. Of all the options, technology adoption proved to be the best choice. Technology, structure and people constitute the eternal triangle for achieving organizational success. It is indeed no surprise that there is no sphere which remained untouched affecting organizational survival, growth and prosperity. In short, we are living in a world that is technology mediated, enabled and enriched. There is technology all around. In this context to understand the implications of technology on the functional areas and impact on managerial functions and functionalities, become not only inevitable but also inescapable.
