XAT 2020 Exam Notification
Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national level aptitude exam conducted by Xavier School of Management, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur. XLRI has been convening XAT for the last 60 years. It is an MBA/PGDM entrance exam and admission to various institutions such as XLRI, SPJIMR, IMT, BIMETCH, TAPMI, XIMB and among other MBA colleges or top B-Schools across the country. It is the second largest entrance exam after CAT.

XAT 2020 Eligibility:
Generally, from past many years, there is no change in eligibility criteria to apply for XAT exam. XAT eligibility details are announced by XLRI Jamshedpur. Four parameters are taken into consideration i.e final year students, educational qualification, age limit and foreign candidates.
1. Final year students: Even final year graduation students can also apply for the exam from well-reputed colleges.
2. Education qualification: Minimum qualification required is a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.
3. Age limit: No age limit, anyone can apply for the exam.
4. Foreign candidates: NRI or foreign candidates have to apply through GMAT scores.
XAT 2020 Syllabus:
There is no particular syllabus prescribed for XAT. Based on the previous year exam analysis, experts suggested a few important topics for XAT exam.
Section I: Verbal and Logical Ability
Topics were related to: Vocabulary, Analogy-based on vocabulary, reading comprehension and sentence correction, grammar, paragraph formation questions, etc.
Section II: Decision Making
Topics were related to: Arithmetic, analytical reasoning, situational etc.
Section III: Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
Topics related to: Percentage, Profit & Loss, Progressions, Probability, Permutations & Combinations, Equations, Data Sufficiency, Time & Distance, Time & Work, etc.
Section IV: General Knowledge
Topics were related to: Current Affairs, Important Dates, Personalities, Books & Authors, Geography & History.
Section V: Essay Writing (Just make the content simple & write in your own words (minimum 200 words))
Note: These are just a few topics related to XAT syllabus. Try to cover all the topics and mostly focus on the above topics and spend extra time on it.
XAT 2020 Exam Pattern:
Previously XAT exam is conducted offline but, last year it is conducted computer-based (online) with a time duration of 210 minutes. And this year it is going to be the same.
Parts: XAT 2020 is divided into two parts i.e Part-I & Part-II. Part-I covers completely objective type questions and the time allotted is 170 minutes whereas Part-II covers both objective type questions and subjective type questions and the time allotted is 40 minutes.
Sections: XAT 2020 has three sections.
In Part-I there are three sections: Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, Decision Making and Verbal & Logical Ability.
In Part-II, there are two sections: General Knowledge and Essay Writing.
The total number of questions: In Part-I there are 74 objective type questions. In Part-II, there are 25 objective type questions with one essay writing.
XAT exam analysis:
XAT exam analysis will vary from year-to-year depending on the question paper (which section is easy and which section is tough to score), a number of applications received and the number of students appeared for the exam.
XAT 2020 Application Form:
The aspirants who want to apply for the test have to visit the official website of XAT. The candidates have to provide basic information for further procedure. They receive an email with login credentials. The application form consists of personal details, academic details, professional details, applying to XLRI programmes, latest photo, signature and the final step is to the application fee.
XAT 2020 Application fee:
Without late fee the application fee is 1650/- and if candidates want to select XLRI programmes they need to pay an additional amount of 300/- for each program.
For the late fee, the XAT application is: 2000/- and for XLRI program the fee is: 500/-.
Payment modes: The XAT payment modes can be done in two ways i.e online and offline. For online payment credit card/ debit card is required or else you can select net banking. For offline payment the procedure is different. The cash and the Demand Draft (make a DD in favor of “XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT” payable at Jamshedpur from any bank.)
XAT 2020 Participating Institutions:
Generally, we can define the participating institutions into two types i.e XAMI and non-XAMI. Only 155 B-Schools across India accept XAT score and also know which institutes are accepting the XAT score. The below are the top institutions accepting XAT score are:

Overall the exam is held at 47 cities across India and two international cities. The board is trying to increase the number so that it will be very convenient for the applicants.
