Trimester Model
The PGDM courses are offered under a trimester model. This allows students to undergo more courses, have increased opportunities to learn from various teaching methods and also to perform well with intensive study.
Our instruction base is student centric. The class room instruction hours have been by and large, confined to forenoon sessions and afternoons are devoted for practical exposure to the students by way of guest lectures by corporate executives, live projects, surveys etc. Subject is imparted through lectures, case discussions, role plays, student presentations etc.
A two months intensive industry internship program at a corporate house is taken up by every student of PGDM – BIFAAS, Global Business and Triple specialization. In addition to Industry internship, every student required to undergo an academic project in his/her respective specialization.
Student evaluation is done on a continuous basis. The ratio of internal and external evaluation is 50 and 50. Internal evaluation components include class room participation by the student, quiz tests, surprise tests, student presentations and assignments.
A faculty member is expected to handover at detailed course outline one week before the commencement of the class work. The class duration is one hour and fifteen minutes and the course is to be taught in 25 sessions. Detailed course outline consists of Session description, Pre Read by the student, Activities planned, Dates of guest lectures and Dates of tests. We believe that the above model will make both the faculty and students to work hard, plan meticulously and adhere to the deadlines.
In order to encourage the faculty to develop working papers and cases, we have introduced incentive scheme and also strengthened the resource availability like CRISIL Research reports, Economic times and Business line newspapers, ECCH, EBASCO, ICMR and various ARCHIVES for case studies and we have made it mandatory to have minimum 3 case studies in each and every subject.
